So I was welding with my Harbor Freight 250amp arc welder, it was running and then without warning it shut off. I was nowhere near the limit of its duty cycle. The outlet the welder is plugged into is still good, but turning the on switch on the welder does nothing. Ideas?

Well, the key words being Harbor Freight, I'm afraid to say this might be broken.

Check the breaker? Check welder connections. It might have some internal protection like a fuse or something otherwise it's probably nuked.

Either an internal breaker or more likely Harbor Freight. Take it back and get another and another and another and another and another....

It might actually be repaiable most ARC welders are sturdy beasts and might be able to solder in whatever is blown etc.

Harbor Freight. There's your problem. Lemme guess, the warranty expired just last week, right?

bummer.
I just sold my ac/dc stick machine to a guy in my welding class. he didn't ask if it was ok, so nobody told him no :)
